Haryana to replace ration cards with smart cards

Haryana government has decided to replace the present ration cards in the state with smart cards which would be linked to the Unique Identification Card (UIC). These ration cards were issued to consumers under the Public Distribution System (PDS). Work to prepare smart cards would commence from May 27, an official spokesman said in Chandigarh.
